Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Joko Widodo took Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, Christine Lagarde, to Southeast Asia`s largest textile market in Central Jakarta, Tanah Abang, on Monday morning.

Widodo invited Lagarde to Tanah Abang market, in an effort to show the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Indonesia.

Widodo and Lagarde arrived at Tanah Abang complex at 11:05 a.m., after an official meeting at the Merdeka Palace.

They went around a number of stalls and greeted people at the market.

Guarded by members of the presidential security detail, they were swarmed and tailed by hundreds of traders and visitors who greeted and took pictures.

During the visit, Lagarde bought baju koko, a long-sleeved collarless shirt often worn by Indonesian Muslim men, for her husband.

On the occasion, the president was accompanied by a number of officials, including Finance Minister Sri Mulyani, Governor of Bank Indonesia Agusmartowardojo, and Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan.
