Indonesia not only has diversity but also a commitment to unite by prioritizing tolerance."Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati opened a mural art exhibition, under the theme Voyage to Indonesia (VTI) Art Exhibition, which is a part of the 2018 International Monetary Fund-World Bank (IMF-WB) International Annual Meeting, to promote Indonesia`s cultural diversity.
"We hope the VTI art exhibition would act as a connection between Indonesia and the world," Indrawati remarked at the opening of the VTI Art Exhibition here on Tuesday.
She stated that the exhibition would introduce Indonesia?s diversity and commitment towards unity to the international world.
"Indonesia not only has diversity but also a commitment to unite by prioritizing tolerance. Difference is beautiful and it is inevitable, and that is why we have become civilized," she noted.
She hoped that the visitors could enjoy the artworks from eight painters who have passion to collaborate without eliminating any characteristics.
The paintings showcased at the VTI by Indonesian artists are planned to be exhibited at the IMF-WB Spring Meetings in Washington DC, in April 2018.
The VTI exhibition, which is held from March 12 to 14, 2018, at Jusuf Anwar Building at the Ministry of Finance, features 14 canvases that depict murals by eight outstanding painters.
The artists have created the artworks based on their own distinctive elements and socio-cultural backgrounds.
The paintings in the 14 canvases show the dynamic, balanced communication, tolerance, and cooperation among the artists.
Besides the 14 paintings, eight artworks of individual painters, such as paintings from Naufal Absyar and Eko Nugroho, will also be displayed at the exhibition.
