Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Indonesian Trade Ministry has promoted leading products, such as coffee, palm oil, furniture, paper, and crude oil, in New Zealand, in an effort to expand the market access of Indonesian products.

"Indonesia has many excellent products that can be exported to New Zealand. These products are brought by Indonesian entrepreneurs who want to cooperate with New Zealand`s businessmen," the Trade Ministry`s national export development director general, Arlinda, stated in a written statement received here on Saturday.

The promotion was conducted at Indonesia-New Zealand business forum in Auckland, New Zealand.

The promotion included a series of trade mission programs. The business forum was attended by around 100 Indonesian businessmen and prospective buyers from New Zealand.

It was also attended by Indonesian Ambassador to New Zealand, Tantowi Yahya.

Indonesia and New Zealand have the potential to increase trade relations in the future.

During the forum, Arlinda noted that Indonesia has become the world`s fourth largest coffee producer and the world`s seventh largest coffee exporter.

The value of Indonesian coffee exports in 2017 was recorded at US$1.18 billion.

In addition, Indonesia is the largest palm oil-producing country in the world. The export value of palm oil in 2017 reached $20.7 billion, or 47.93 percent of total palm oil in the world market.

Arlinda remarked that palm oil products are still open for New Zealand market.

"The government of Indonesia has expressed its commitment to apply the principles of sustainable palm oil," Arlinda remarked.
