Banjar Baru, S Kalimantan (ANTARA News) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) revealed that he was still studying the names he would choose to be his running mate or his vice presidential candidate in the 2019 presidential race.

"I have once again stated that the internal team was still reviewing the names to be selected as the vice presidential candidate," he noted, after witnessing the handing over of land certificates at the Rudi Rusnawan Sport Hall, Banjar Baru, South Kalimantan, on Monday.

The head of state remarked that the political parties that supported him were also doing the same. "The parties are also just doing the same. We have not had any communication with all the supporting parties," he added.

Jokowi mentioned that the decision to pick a name for the vice presidential candidate position in the 2019 presidential election was still a long process.

"It is still a long process. So, please do not ask the matter (who will be chosen) again," he explained.

Regarding the political parties that are formulating the criteria for the vice presidential candidate to accompany him, the president stated that he would just let them do it.

"If there is a party that makes the criteria, they can please go ahead. That is okay, and that is a political dynamism. We and the community will eventually be able to see who the most suitable candidate would be," he elaborated.

Jokowi remarked that that he will make a note of all names offered by political parties? supporters as reference of considerations.

"Oh yes, all will be considered," Jokowi stated while answering the questions of journalists.

In a previous report, the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) proposed 12 figures considered suitable to accompany Jokowi as his vice presidential candidate in the 2019 presidential election.

PSI claimed that it obtained the names from the survey results and the PSI`s political communications with the local community.

The 12 names include Airlangga Hartarto, Chairul Tanjung, Din Syamsuddin, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Moeldoko, Mohammad Mahfud MD, Nadiem Anwar Makarim, Rusdi Kirana, Said Aqil Siradj, Sri Mulyani Indrawati, Susi Pudjiastuti, and Yaqut Qoumas.
