"Students, who register with the Islamic University of Indonesia, will receive a scholarship in Cimanggis Depok. A center of Islamic civilization of Indonesia will also be built," he noted while addressing the teachers and students at the Modern Islamic Boarding School of Tazakka Bandar, Batang District, Central Java, on Tuesday.
He remarked that the development of the Islamic University of Indonesia also aims to bring the nation`s children at par with the educational standards in Egypt. Thus, Indonesia will be known as a new icon of the world`s Islamic education center.
Currently, he noted that the Islamic University of Indonesia is in the process of being built, and construction is estimated to be completed in two years.
On the occasion, Syafruddin also pointed out that before entering the Ramadan month, ban on the sale of liquor should be in place to ensure Muslims follow the fast.
"Officials, who are not serious about handling this issue (fighting liquor or drugs), will be replaced," he emphasized.
Caretaker of the Islamic Boarding School of Tazakka Anang Masyhadi revealed that with the number of students taking on the role of vanguards of the nation, there will be greater chances of realizing Indonesia as a role model of the modern Islamic civilization.
"It depends on our efforts to realize it. We try our best to integrate the Islamic Boarding School and Police," he added.
