Rantauprapat, N Sumatra (ANTARA News) - Police Commissioner Andi Chandra, deputy chief of the Labuhanbatu Resort Police, in North Sumatra Province was found dead on Sunday after being reportedly drowned in the Labuhanbatu waters.

Police rescuers evacuated Chandra`s body, that was earlier drowned in the Sei Lumut waters, Labuhan Bilik village in Labuhanbatu District, North Sumatra.

A boat carrying passengers, including the deputy chief of the Labuhanbatu Resort Police, Commissioner Andi Chandra, reportedly sank in the Labuhanbatu waters, North Sumatra, on Saturday.

The boat was drowned after crashing into a tank in the waters of the Sei Lumut, Commissioner Victor Sibarani, confirmed when contacted here.

The entourage in the boat survived, but Chandra went missing, Sibarani disclosed.

Chandra embarked the wooden boat after attending the wedding party of the second child of Labuhanbatu District head in Panai Hilir sub-district.

Chandra`s body was brought to the Tanjung Sarang Elang area in Panai Hulu sub-district and arrived at the location at 10:20 a.m. local time.

The Chadra`s corpse would be buried in Pematang Siantar, Simalungun District.
