"South Australia has a strong relationship with Indonesia, especially under the framework of West Java-South Australia sister province," Governor Van Le said in a statement from the Indonesian Consulate in Sydney received by Antara here on Tuesday.
According to the governor, efforts to strengthen cooperation and people-to-people relationships should not stop. "We need to make it stronger through programs like youth exchanges," the governor continued.
In line with the statement of the Governor, Consul General Heru Subolo stressed that the relationship between Indonesia and Australia is not only intertwined between the people of both countries, but also at the level of head of state.
"And the strong connection between our two leaders today is the ultimate time to translate such strong personal relationships into concrete implementation," the Consul General said.
Consul General Subolo and Governor Hieu Van Le also discussed a number of programs that need to be prioritized in the future and contribute to strengthen people-to-people relationships.
The priority programs include teaching and learning of Bahasa Indonesia in South Australia, enhancing business relationships, and combining Indonesian fashion and culinary as preferred subjects in some schools in South Australia.
The working areas of the Indonesian Consulate in Sydney include New South Wales, Queensland, and South Australia.
