"Along with INASGOC, the Jakarta`s administration has been carrying out activities involving the small and medium scale entrepreneurs (SME). We want the Asian Games also brings positive impact for the people`s economic progress".
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Jakarta Vice Governor Sandiaga Salahudin Uno has asked all sponsors of the 2018 Asian Games to continue publicizing the international sports event which will be held in the cities of Jakarta and Palembang.

The upcoming Asian Games will take place in the two cities from

August 18 to September 2, 2018.

"I ask all sponsors either private or state-owned to continue intensifying the socialization of the 2018 Asian Games to the public," he said here on Wednesday.

The Jakarta provincial administration needs many sponsors including from the organizing committee of the 2018 Asian Games (INASGOC), so that all citizens can feel the spirit of the Asian Games.

"We wish the implementation of the Asian Games can be more echoed, so that the spirit can be perceived by the whole society. We want to try to create an Asian Games `fever`," he remarked.

According to him, the city`s government along with the INASGOC

also hoped the organization of the 2018 Asian Games 2018 can have a positive impact or influence on the improvement of the people`s economy.

"Along with INASGOC, the Jakarta`s administration has been carrying out activities involving the small and medium scale entrepreneurs (SME). We want the Asian Games also brings positive impact for the people`s economic progress," Uno noted.

He further said until now, the festive event of the Asian Games has been felt by most people in the capital.

Some 9.5 thousand athletes; 2.5 thousand personnel of the Asian Olympic Council; and 5.5 thousand technical delegates from 45 countries will participate, or be involved, in the event. Thousands of media representatives are also expected to cover the event.

As the host of the 2018 Asian Games, Indonesia is eying a top 10 place in the medals tally of the pan-Asian multi-sports event. To secure it, Indonesia must win 15 to 20 gold medals.

In the history of the Asian Games, Indonesia has never taken home 20 gold medals. The country registered its highest tally of 11 gold medals in 1962, when it hosted the event for the first time.
