A statement from the Indonesian Consulate General in Sydney, received by Antara here on Wednesday, mentioned that the Indonesian Creative Economy Agency (Bekraf), in cooperation with the Ministry of Trade and the Indonesian Trade Promotion Center (ITPC), had opened the Indonesian Pavilion under a theme "Archipelageek" on Tuesday (May 15).
Consul General in Sydney, Heru Subolo, attended the exhibition to open the Indonesian Pavilion at the International Convention Center Sydney along with Bekraf`s Deputy Marketing Josua Simanjuntak; Bekraf`s Deputy for Infrastructure Hari Sungkari; Trade Attache of the Indonesian Embassy in Canberra Iman Nurmansyah; and ITPC's Head Agung Haris Setiawan.
"CeBIT can be a means to showcase the achievements of Indonesia's digital sector to the Australian people and strengthen business ties between our businesses and various digital actors in Australia," Consul General Subolo remarked.
He hoped that Indonesia's participation in the event could attract more investments and build collaboration to improve Indonesia`s digital products.
The eight participating Indonesian startup companies were selected through a curation process. They are Squiline, Medico, 8Villages, Nicslab, Yava-Solutions 247, Jojonomic, Ukirama, and Metabuilders (Merakyat.co).
The participating companies offer their innovative solutions, ranging from hospital management, data management, business management, online language learning, efficient research facilities, and an improved system for agricultural production quality control.
Squline`s co-founder Tomy Yunus Tjen expressed hope that his company's participation in CeBIT would increase and expand the number of online platforms for language learning users which he developed from Australians who are interested in learning Bahasa Indonesia.
Meanwhile, Kevin Eka Putra, the co-founder of Ukirama, who is also a graduate of the University of New South Wales, hoped his participation in CeBIT could be an inspiration for Indonesian students to work in the digital sector.
CeBIT Australia 2018 has been officially opened by the Minister of Finance, Services and Property of the Government of New South Wales, Victor Dominello, and will last for three days.
