Jakarta, (ANTARA News) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has again questioned the former Air Force chief, retired Marshal Agus Supriatna, as a witness in an alleged corruption case over the procurement of a helicopter for the Air Force in 2016-2017.

"He is questioned as a witness for Irfan Kurnia Saleh who has been named a suspect," said the KPK spokesman, Febri Diansyah, in Jakarta on Wednesday.

Supriatna had previously been questioned by the antigraft agency as a witness for Saleh on January 3, 2018. But at that time, Supriatna did not provide explanations. "Everything about this concerns the task and responsibility of the KPK. I have explained what I can explain to KPK," Supriatna had said.

KPK has named Saleh, who is the president director of PT Diratama Jaya Mandiri, as a suspect. Saleh is alleged to have benefited himself or others or a corporation, abusing the authority, opportunity, facilities available to him. Meanwhile, the POM TNI (Military Police of the Indonesian Defence Forces) itself has named five suspects for alleged criminal corruption in the helicopter deal.

The five suspects are Col. FTS SE (procurement unit head of the Air Force), vice-marshal FA (planning officer in the procurement of goods and services), Sec. Sub. Lt SS (cashier staffer), Lt Col WW (cashier who distributes funds to certain parties), rear marshal SB (planning assistant to Air Force chief).
