Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The provincial government of Jakarta will adjust the working hours of offices in the city during the Asian Games to assure fulfillment of travel time to venues for Asian Games athletes set at 34 minutes maximally.

"We have mapped traffic simulation. We will inform it to office workers so they can avoid Asian Games venues," Jakarta deputy governor Sandiaga Uno said here on Wednesday after a meeting at the office of the coordinating minister for human development and culture.

He said office workers who must pass Asian Games arenas or non-arenas must adjust their travel time to their offices.

"We suggest that those who have no business of participating or seeing the Games should not take the roads to be affected by events," he said.

He said the Jakarta government has conducted a simulation of athletes` travel from Athletes` Bulding in Kemayoran to a number of venues especially in Gelora Bung Karno sports complex in Senayan.

"The optimum time reached was below 34 minutes. It could be 27 minutes with certain traffic arrangement such as implementing an odd-even plate number system, blocking certain lanes or opening special lanes for Asian Games at the toll road," he said.

Uno said the Jakarta government would still discuss with the ministry of education in connection with students` participation in the event.

He said simulation would still be done including the use of parking lots at Athletes` Building to smooth mobilization and circulation of vehicles.
