"Our staff at the Main Cikarang Toll Gate recorded transactions for cars leaving Jakarta until 1 p.m. local time," he noted in a press statement.
He said the number of cars leaving the capital city in the current Eid season rose by some 23 percent from the normal level during the same period last year recorded at 27,111.
He forecast that the number would reach 74,187 during the peak period expected that day based on calculation of the same period last year during which the figure reached 78,476.
Jasa Marga has appealed to motorists to ensure they maintain a sufficient balance in their toll road payment card.
"We open top-up service at toll gates only during emergency," he added.
The government has decided to grant a mass leave of seven days for the Eid holidays this year from June 11 to June 20.
