Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Jakarta Police has assured it will issue an investigation termination warrant (SP3) of an alleged pornography chat case which was linked to the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) leader, Habib Rizieq Shihab.

"Investigators have stopped the investigation," said Head of Public Information Bureau of Public Relations Division of Police Headquarters Brigadier General M Iqbal in Jakarta on Sunday.

He said Rizieq`s lawyers have earlier submitted a request for the termination of the investigation of the alleged chat with pornographic content through cellular phone.

The investigators of the Special Criminal Investigation Department of the Jakarta Police have examined the case which was followed up with the issuance of the SP3.

Iqbal said the investigators have the rights to stop the investigation because the party which uploaded the chat with pornographic content was not found.

He said police can reopen the case if they found new facts on the case or arrested the uploader of the alleged pornoghraphic chat in the electronic social media.

Police have earlier named a woman (Firza Husein) as a suspect linked to the dissemination of a vulgar photo and chat which allegedly involved Habib Rizieq Shihab on May 16, 2017.

Police charged Firza Husein with Article 4 point 1 in conjunction with Article 29 and or Article 6 in conjunction with Article 32 and or Article 8 in conjunction with Article 34 Law No. 44 Year of 2008 on Pornography which carries a punishment of over five years in jail.

Apart from Firza Husein, the police had also named Habib Rizieq as a suspect in the similar case with Firza Husein.

During the investigation process, Rizieq did not met the police summonses because he was in Saudi Arabia.
