In opening the Indonesian stand, Indonesian Ambassador to that country Salman Al Farisi said that the economic relations between Indonesia and South Africa have not fully reflected the potentials of the two countries.

"Both South Africa and Indonesia are major countries in their respective regions," the ambassador said. Indonesia is the largest economy in Southeast Asia and South Africa is the largest in southern Africa.

Ambassador Salman said Indonesian business players - small and big - should utilize Indonesian embassy and the ITPC in seeking to boost exports.

Indonesian business players should be more aggressive in finding as many as possible potential buyers and prospective distributors through the exhibition, he said.

Africa`s Big Seven is the largest food and beverage exhibition in Africa bringing together global suppliers and buyers. There will be around 200 exhibitors from 29 countries taking part in the exhibition. Normally the exhibition drew at least 15,000 visitors.

Africa`s Big Seven also serves as an annual gathering of professionals in food processing industry from all over the continent.

The Indonesian business leaders will hold business meetings with local counterparts to discuss possible partnership, the ambassador said. (AS)
