"Indonesia is a big country, with 17 thousand islands and 714 tribes," President Jokowi stated at the ABN Campus of Nasdem in Pancoran area, here on Monday.
The head of state remarked that from his experience, flying from the westernmost part of Indonesia to the easternmost region took over nine hours.
"If flying from London to the east, it will pass through seven countries or to Istanbul, Turkey. This means we are a big country," he remarked.
President Jokowi stated that in addition to being a large nation, Indonesia was home to varied languages, tribes, and traditions.
"This big country also faces a big challenge. We should not be afraid and hesitate to face the challenges, especially youngsters," he emphasized.
Meanwhile, ABN Governor of Nasdem Party IGK Manila stated that regular students will be educated for four months to become insightful alumni and drive the Indonesian restoration movement.
He explained that the second batch of regular education of 2018, with 517 participants, increased as compared to the first, which was only attended by 500 people.
The public lecture was also attended by Chairman of the Nasdem Party Surya Paloh; House Speaker Bambang Susatyo; Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs of Indonesia Wiranto; Chairman of the Party of the Functional Groups (Golkar Party) Airlangga Hartarto; Minister of Trade Enggartiasto Lukita; and Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning Sofyan Djalil.
