"We are going to organize the fun walk at the Bird Nest Stadium. A total of 100 people are expected to join the event," the Indonesian Embassy`s Spokesperson, Rukmini Setiati, said here on Thursday.
The fun walk is free of charge and open to everyone, she said, adding that those who want to join the event could register with the organizing committee through WeChat, China`s most popular social media platform.
To promote the 2018 Asian Games that will take place in Jakarta and Palembang, South Sumatra Province`s capital city, from August 18 to September 2, the Indonesian Embassy in Beijing had earlier organized a fun run in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province.
Regarding Indonesia`s preparation for Asia`s largest multi-sports event, President Joko Widodo took a walk around Jakarta`s main Sudirman -Thamrin Street on Thursday afternoon to check the infrastructure project there.
"We are checking the readiness, especially the city`s infrastructure, such as pedestrian crossings, cleanliness of the city, as well as the venues at Bung Karno stadium," he said at a meeting held in front of Hotel Pullman on Thamrin street.
He checked the pedestrian and Pelican crossings, as well as the Asian Games 2018 decorations at the Hotel Indonesia roundabout.
He stated that all infrastructure projects are close to completion. "We have seen them, and we can say that they have all been completed," he remarked.
Besides checking the venues, Jokowi will also check the readiness of athletes competing in the event.
"Starting tomorrow, I will check the readiness of the athletes. I hope they all are ready to compete on August 18," he noted.
Indonesia has set a target of entering the biggest 10 in the event by collecting a minimum of 16 gold medals.
