Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Indonesian Medical Association (IDI) Health Assessment Team of the presidential and vice presidential candidates in the 2019 presidential election will also submit the results of the examination to the prospective candidates concerned, in addition to the General Election Commission (KPU).

"The results of this examination will certainly be divided, first we submit it directly to the KPU. The second one is also handed over to prospective candidates," IDI General Chairman Ilham Oetama Marsis at the Gatot Soebroto Army Hospital here on Sunday.

He said his party was not authorized to deliver the results of the health examination to the public, for the KPU will announce it.

Ilham explained that based on the KPU Decree, a physical and spiritual health assessment team was formed for Prospective Presidents and Vice Presidents.

"This team is made up of the Central Executive Board of IDI, experts in the fields of specialization and sub-specialization from medical faculties in Indonesia and from hospitals," he said.

According to him, the person in charge of the team was the Chairperson of the IDI and the Head of the Gatot Soebroto Army Hospital.

Ilham explained that after checking the health of the pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates for the 2019 presidential election, the team will hold a plenary meeting.

"This plenary meeting will discuss the results of the examination of both physical examination, spiritual examinations, laboratory examinations, and additional examination, then the results and conclusions will be taken," he said.
