"When the time comes, I will also ask time from Mr. Jokowi (for a friendly meeting). We always want mature, good and polite democracy," Prabowo said after a meeting with Vice President Jusuf Kalla at the latter`s official residence in Jakarta on Wednesday night.
During the 50-minute meeting with the vice president, Prabowo was accompanied by vice presidential hopeful Sandiaga Uno.
Prabowo has set no exact date for his meeting with Jokowi. But he added the meeting is likely to take place after the country celebrates its 73rd Independence Day on August 17.
The chief of the Greater Indonesia Movement (Gerindra) Party met Jusuf Kalla in the capacity as a senior politician.
Prabowo said he has had a good relationship with Jusuf Kalla for tens of years. The relations remained good although they became rivals in the 2014 presidential race where Prabowo lost to Jokowi.
Jusuf Kalla shared Prabowo`s view. "As Mr. Prabowo has spoken of politics, we only compete once every five years. The relationship which has lasted for tens of years should mot be severed due to the five yearly competition," he said.
