Wong made the remark after his team was defeated by Indonesian National Team U-23 with a score of 3-0 in the third match in Group A on Friday at the Bekasi Patriot Chandrabaga Stadium, West Java.
"From the beginning I knew that our toughest opponents in the group was Indonesia, not Palestine, Chinese Taipei or Laos," he said after the match against Indonesia.
Laos U-23 national team coach of Singapore origin said that the game against Indonesia was very difficult for his team.
He said the U-23 national team of Laos was not competitive and had to be willing to see Indonesia dominate the match with ball possession reaching 63 percent and could direct the ball 32 times to Laos goalkeeper escorted by Saymanolinh Paseuth where 17 of them were on target and three were converted into goals.
Indonesia U-23 national team managed to conquer Laos U-23 national team with a score of 3-0 in an advanced match in Group A of the men`s soccer game of the Asian Games.
Indonesia`s goals in the match were scored by Alberto Goncalves (14th and 47th minutes) and Ricky Fajrin in the 75th minute.
The victory makes Indonesia ranked third in Group A standings with six points from three matches and opens up opportunities to qualify for the round of 16.
In the standings, just above Indonesia there are Hong Kong who have seven points from three matches, while the top of the standings are held by the Palestinian U-23 national team who collect eight points from four matches and are guaranteed to qualify for the eighth final round.
Laos national team itself must be eliminated from the 2018 Asian Games after always losing in three matches. A similar fate was experienced by Chinese Taipei, which in three matches only recorded two draws and one in balance.
