Palembang, S Sumatra (ANTARA News) - South Korea led the 10 meter air rifle mixed team qualification stage in the Asian Games 2018 on Sunday.

The 10-meter air rifle mixed team qualification stage held at the Jakabaring Sport City in Palembang, South Sumatra, selected top five teams to qualify for the finals.

South Korea`s Jung Eunhea and Kim Hyeonjun topped the qualification stage with 836.7 points ahead of India`s Apurvi Chandela and Ravi Kumar in the second spot with 835.3 points and Mongolia`s Nandinzaya Gankhuyag and Bayaraa Nyantai at the third position with 832.1 points.

In the fourth spot was Ruozhu Zhao and Haoran Yang of China with 831.1 points and in the fifth spot was Yingshin Lin and Shaochuan Lu of Chinese Taipei swith 829.8 points.

The 10-meter air rifle mixed event brought together 58 athletes from 29 countries.

Host Indonesia, which fielded Monica Daryanti and M. Naufal Mahardika ranked ninth with 821.1 points, depriving them from the finals.

The countries which finished in the top five will compete with one another for a gold medal staring 01.00 p.m. local time.

The shooting event on Sunday offered two golds in 10-meter air rifle mixed event and 10-meter air pistol event.

A total of 54 athletes from 27 countries took part in the 10 meter air pistol mixed double event to vie for eight spots in the finals.
