Jakarta (ANTARA News) - North Korea`s female lifter Ri Song Gum won the gold medal in the 48-kilogram class of the 2018 Asian Games weightlifting branch, which took place at the JI Expo Kemayoran, Jakarta, on Monday afternoon, with a total force of 199 kilograms.

North Korea`s total lifter force comes from the snatch force of 87 kilograms and clean and jerk of 112 kilograms.

The silver medal was won by Sri Wahyuni, with a total force of 195 kilograms, from the snatch weighing 88 kilograms and clean and jerk weighing 107 kilograms.

Thai Lifter Sukcharoen Thunya won the silver, with a total force of 189 kilograms, from snatch weighing 87 kilograms and clean and jerk weighing 102 kilograms.

North Korean Lifter Ri Song Gum won in the snatch class, with its best force weighing 87 kilograms. On the first occasion, he managed to lift the barbell weighing 85 kilograms and the second one at 87 kilograms, but he failed on the third occasion, with a weight of 90 kilograms.

In the clean and jerk force, he was successful in only on the first occasion out of the three opportunities, namely 112 kilograms. In the two other occasions, weighing 117 kilograms, he failed.

Indonesian snatch lifter class, Sri Wahyuni, managed to lift the heaviest barbell of 88 kilograms. He managed to lift a barbell weighing 85 kilograms in the first opportunity. In the second batch, weighing 88 kilograms, he failed, but he was successfully appointed on the third occasion.

Sri Wahyuni could actually steal the opportunity if the 112 kilograms and second generation clean and jerk would have been successful, but it all failed.

Thai lifter, Sukcharoen Thunya, lifted the heaviest in the snatch, which was 87 kilograms. In the first batch, it was 82 kilograms in the first chance and 85 kilograms in the second chance. He managed to lift the barbell in the third opportunity, weighing 87 kilograms. But in clean and jerk, the best force weighed 102 kilograms.

Another Indonesian lifter who descended on the class was Putri Yolanda, who raised the Snatch class barbell twice, failing at 72 kilograms.

He succeeded on the third occasion, with the same weight of 72 kilograms, and clean and jerk at 90 kilograms, so that the total force was only 162 kilograms.

Sri Lanka Lifter Gomas BDH could not continue the match because he failed in all three lifting opportunities in the snatch force, with a weight of 67 kilograms. Hence, he could not continue in the clean and jerk type.
