The gold medal was clinched by Chinese athlete Zhouli Chen during the match at the JIExpo sports venue in Kemayoran, Jakarta.
Chen collected a total score of 19.51, after he recorded 9.76 in the Taijijian category and 9.75 in the Taijiquan number.
The Japanese wushu athlete grabbed the silver medal after he collected a total score of 19.42 points from the Taijiquan and Taijijian categories, at 9.70 and 9.72 points, respectively.
In the third place, Nyei Chan Ko Ko of Myanmar pocketed the bronze medal. He recorded a total score of 19.40, with 9.69 in the Taijiquan number and 9.71 in the Taijijian event.
Meanwhile, Indonesian wushu athlete Bobie Valentinus Gunawan failed to win a medal in the Taijiquan and Taijijian categories, and had to settle for a total score of 19.29. For the Taijiquan category, Gunawan scored 9.69 and for Taijian, he scored 9.60.
