Palembang, S. Sumatra (ANTARA News) - Two Indonesian skateboarders advanced to the men`s park finals after clearing the preliminary round held in Jakabaring Sport City in Palembang on Tuesday.

The two athletes -- Jason Dennis Lijnzaat and Pevi Permana Putra -- were ranked second and third, with 73.00 points and 66.66 points respectively.

Japanese skateboarder Kensuke Sasaoka secured a place at the top of the standings, with 83.66 points.

A total of 10 skateboarders from Indonesia, South Korea, Japan, China, Thailand, and Malaysia contested in the event.

Only eight athletes with higher points will qualify for the finals.

The Japanese skateboarder dominated the preliminary round and grabbed high points in the first round after he demonstrated various tricks with his right and left legs.

Indonesian athlete Lijnzaat showcased smooth gliding, and his supporters cheered every time he did a trick. Putra, despite his attractive performance, received lower points after he failed to execute a frontside kickflip maneuver in the last second of the first runs.

Other skateboarders that advanced to the finals are Jaejin Han and Eugene Choi from South Korea, Kunkun Sun and Xiaojun Xiang from China, and Noppakorn Panutai from Thailand.

In the men`s street preliminary round, Indonesia presented two skateboarders: Aldwien Angkawidjaya and Sanggoe Dharma Tanjung.
