Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesia`s men`s double badminton team, comprising Marcus Fernaldi Gideon and Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo, won the gold medal at the Asian Games 2018, after defeating their opponents by 13-21, 21-18, 24-22 at the All-Indonesian finals in Jakarta on Tuesday.

Both teams presented a very interesting match. The audience that filled the Istora Senayan Sport Hall was amazed by the performance and applauded the players.

In the first game, the unseeded Fajar-Rian pair won the game in 13 minutes, with a flat and fast ball game, whereas the Marcus-Kevin pair, nicknamed "Minions," actually made many mistakes.

In the second game, the Minions lagged behind by 4-7 points, but they could equalize the points to 9-9 and could continue to maintain the momentum until the second game ended.

Entering the decisive game, the Minions first led the point collection at 8-3, but the Fajar-Rian pair was able to catch up and equalize the point collection to 8-8.

Thereafter, the two teams tried to display their best by gaining points after points.

Although the Fajar-Rian pair had made a lead at 17-12, the Minions, who were more experienced, were able to equalize the points to 19-19.

However, the Far-Rian pair, who are ranked ninth in the world, were unable to take the opportunity to win. Although the points had reached 20-19, the Minions could equalize and instead took the lead by 23-22 points. After a long fight, the Minions finally won the match.
