A South Korean naturalized player from the United States, Ricardo Ratliffe, showed a dominant performance in the match, through 37 double points and 17 rebounds.
Tripoint marksman Jeon Jun-beom recorded 18 points, all of which were made from tripoint shots; followed by Heo Ung, with 12 points; and Kim Sun-hyung, with 10 points and 6 assists.
Meanwhile, a Chinese Taipei player, Liu Cheng, made the highest point among his teammates, with 25 points and seven rebounds.
Despite earning 17 points and 7 assists from Chen Yingchun and 13 points and 6 rebounds from Chen Kuanchuan, Chinese Taipei team was unable to outperform South Korea.
Chinese Taipei took the lead at the opening of the match, but South Korea turned ahead with a score of 10-9, with Ratliffe`s free throw in the remaining 5 minutes 45 seconds in the first quarter.
South Korea managed to take advantage of the remaining time to score 11-2 and close the first quarter with score 21-11.
Ten points were made by South Korean players in the first half of the second quarter, when Sun-hyung`s tripoint shot to success and made the score 31-21 in the remaining five minutes.
South Korea made 12 points when closing the first half through Ratliffe`s dunk buzzer beater that changed the score to 45-33.
The Jun-beom`s tripoint shot, which was immediately followed by Sun-hyung`s lay-up shot, led South Korea to excel over Chinese Taipei at 59-44 in the remaining 3 minutes 55 seconds of the third quarter.
When the third 10 minutes were over, South Korea was secure, with score 72-53.
Although Chinese Taipei scored 28 points in the final quarter, the 17 points earned by South Korea confirmed victory for the latter team, with a score of 89-81.
