Makassar, S Sulawesi (ANTARA News) - Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi and National Police Chief General Tito Karnavian are scheduled to join the Asian Para Games 2018`s torch relay in the South Sulawesi provincial capital of Makassar on Wednesday (Sept 12).

Sumadi will receive the Asian Para Games 2018 torch from paralympiad javelin throw athlete Bahar Rahman of South Sulawesi, Chief of the Makassar City Youth and Sports Office Achmad Hendra Hakamuddin said here on Tuesday.

He will later carry the torch and hand over it to other South Sulawesi paralympiad athlete Suwarni.

Acting secretary of the Makassar city administration Naisyah Arikin said the Asian Para Games 2018 torch will be relayed in the same way as the Asian Games 2018 torch in the city some time ago.

The Asian Para Games 2018 torch relay will take the route starting from Haji Bau Street to Karebosi Soccer field via Penghibur Street, and Ahmad Yani Street.

The Asian Para Games 2018 torch will also be relayed in other Indonesian cities including Pontianak, Medan, Pangkal Pinang, and Jakarta.

The Asian Para Games 2018 which will bring together 2,800 athletes and 1,800 officials from 41 National Paralympic Committee (NPC) member countries will open on October 6.
