"We are proud that today we can add seven points to the resolution adopted by the ICW," ICW President Jung Sook Kim told Antara after presiding over the Adoption of the ICW Resolution at the Grand Inna Hotel Malioboro, here on Monday.
According to Kim, the resolution highlighted several pressing issues, namely, women`s role in environmental conservation, human rights enforcement and other issues related to women.
Kim explained that the ICW will develop the resolution into an action plan that will be carried out by the ICW in the next three years.
"If possible we will share our proposals with a number of other international women`s organizations, (so they can also) implement this resolution," Kim said.
There are new seven points of the resolution adopted through voting by the ICW, among others related to the utilization of internet by women and children, violence against elderly women, the handling of migrant women from African sub sahara to the healing process for traumatic women and children in disater areas.
Later, the ICW will develop programs from the agreed resolution which will be implemented in the next three years.
Indonesia hosted the 35th ICW General Assembly on September 13-19 2018 in Yogyakarta.
The 35th General Assembly of the ICW was held to coincide with the Indonesian Thousand Women`s Organization Gathering which were attended by 169 leaders of women`s organizations that were members of the ICW as well as 1,000 leaders of women`s organizations and 2,050 participants from across Indonesia.
The event was fully supported by 35 state-owned enterprises, including state news agency Antara.
