"This community is certainly a place for Small and Medium Industries (IKM) players to jointly develop the textile industry and find solutions to existing problems," Airlangga noted in Bandung Regency, West Java, Tuesday.
Airlangga made the statement while holding a dialog with the TPT Community at the Bandung Textile Industry Development Service Unit Building.
"I am happy today to be able to meet face-to-face with the textile industry entrepreneurs in Majalaya to discuss in order to increase the effectiveness of obtaining raw materials at the IKM," Airlangga noted.
On the occasion, Airlangga remarked that TPT consumption was believed to continue to increase in line with population growth and lifestyle changes.
Furthermore, in utilizing this opportunity, national textile business players must work hard to boost productivity, quality, and efficiency.
According to Airlangga, several steps to be taken comprise implementing more modern technologies with high levels of efficiency and productivity as well as improving the capabilities of competitive human resources.
Industry and manufacturing are preparing to face the 4.0 industrial revolution that integrates the online world with production lines in the industry.
"Industry 4.0 refers to increasing automation, machine-to-machine, and human-to-machine communication, artificial intelligence, and sustainable technology development," he noted.
The Golkar Party chairperson also remarked that the industrial revolution 4.0 was inevitable, but it offers new opportunities for which Indonesia should prepare itself.
This industrial revolution, if implemented properly in the textile industry, will significantly boost the competitiveness of the national industrial sector.
"I hope the IKM TPT in Majalaya would implement the 4.0 industrial revolution, so that it would improve its competitiveness," he added.
