The minister made the remarks after observing the readiness of the Soekarno-Hatta Airport`s Terminal 3 to welcome athletes and officials of the APG 2018 on Tuesday.
"We have prepared 100 buses for the athletes` journey during the Asian Para Games in addition to three travel scenarios for athletes and officials. We also prepare scenarios for the densest six flight arrival schedules," the minister stated.
He further noted that the arrival scenario was six aircraft arriving on one day. Meanwhile, one aircraft carried 20 wheelchair users and headed for the athletes` house in Kemayoran, Central Jakarta.
"Our scenario is the same as during the Asian Games, which is the odd-even implementation on some roads, special lanes for vehicles and escort of vehicles used by athletes," the minister explained, adding that his office had also provided ambulances.
According to Sumadi, the airport organizer "Angkasa Pura" will also prepare a special team of 20 people for the welcome event apart from volunteers from the Asian Organizing Committee of the 2018 Para Games.
The number of participants of the upcoming Asian Para Games 2018 will reach some four thousand athletes from 42 countries, an increase from some 2.8 thousand athletes from 42 nations during the previous Asian Para Games in Incheon, South Korea.
As many as 18 sports to be contested in the event, include basketball, volleyball, fencing, table tennis, swimming, shooting, judo, cycling, chess, weight lifting, bowling, goal ball, badminton, running, archery, handball, and tennis.
