Of the total seven thousand land certificates distributed at Pakansari stadium in Bogor District, four thousand were issued for land owners in Bogor Municipality and three thousand others to land owners in Bogor District.
"Every time I visit a region, I heard the same complaint of land conflict," the president, or Jokowi as he popularly known, stated.
The president has set a target for the land and spatial planning minister to issue five million certificates in 2016, seven million in 2018, and nine million in 2019.
"People are waiting for a quick and cheap service to receive land certificates. I am also a citizen, and I have once made a land certificate too," he added.
The president has called on land owners to take care of their land certificates as a legal evidence of land ownership, stressing the importance of the certificate to avoid any conflict.
If they have to use the certificate as a mortgage, their capability to repay the loan should be taken into account or else they would only use it as productive loan for working capital or investment.
"Be careful, as this is our heritable precious property," Jokowi emphasized.
At the occasion, Jokowi has called on people to maintain unity as the nation`s most precious asset.
"We have to maintain this because the nation`s biggest asset is unity. The general election should not break us apart. We are brothers and sisters," he remarked.
Jokowi has also called on the public to recheck any information shared through social media to avoid defamation and hoax.
