Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Indonesian government has decided to accept only six kinds of foreign aid for earthquake and tsunami victims in Palu city and Donggala district, Central Sulawesi, a National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) official said.

"President Joko Widodo has decided to accept rather than ask for international aid. Moreover, the aid is also limited to six kinds," Head of BNPB Information Data Center and Public Relations Sutopo Purwo Nugroho said here on Tuesday.

The six kinds of international aid are air transportation, tents, field hospitals, fogging, generator and water-purifying devices, he said.

He said 26 countries and two international organizations have offered aid to Indonesia.

"All kinds of aid must be delivered in writing. But if possible, we will be self supporting without burdening ourselves. So, we will always take caution and (the aid) must goes through the process," he said.

The foreign ministry and BNPB will coordinate over the international aid for the earthquake and tsunami victims, he said.

"Not all kinds of aid could be accepted. We only give priority to six kinds of aid," he said.

The Indonesian government announced earlier it would accept international help for urgent disaster response and relief.
