The Indonesian team defeated Hong Kong 2-0 in the opening quarter final match held at the Bung Karno stadium complex of Istora in Jakarta on Saturday.
The Indonesian team gained the first point through its male SL4 class single athlete, Fredy Setiawan, who won two straight games against Lee Yan Ping Patrick 21-5, 21-8.
Meanwhile, the men`s doubles pair Hafizh Briliansyah Prawiranegara and Hary Susanto successfully defeated Hong Kong pair Chu Siu Keung and Lam Tak Kwan 21-8, 21-8.
In the semifinal round, Indonesia faced Thailand that had successfully defeated South Korea 2-1.
In the meantime, India faced Malaysia in another semi-final match.
Malaysia advanced to the semifinal after crushing Vietnam 2-0, while India had to go through two matches to reach the semifinals by beating Chinese Taipei 2-0 and then defeating Japan 2-0.
The Indonesian contingent to the Asian Para Games 2018 comprised 296 athletes, 40 coaches, 18 managers, 35 coach assistants, and 33 officials.
The Asian Para Games witnesses the participation of 41 countries, with a total of 2,800 athletes, 1,800 officials, and 500 mediapersons, both from within the country and abroad.
As many as 18 sports being contested in the event are basketball, volleyball, fencing, table tennis, swimming, shooting, judo, cycling, chess, weightlifting, bowling, goal ball, badminton, running, archery, boccia, handball, and tennis.
