The gold medals won were respectively two from group matches, one from VI-B1 classification or total visual impairment, and another for PI or impaired passive range of movement, in the woman`s singles standard.
The winners for the group category are Wilma Margaretha Sinaga and Debi Ariesta; for VI-B1 classification is Debi Ariesta; and for PI is Simanja Nasip Farta.
In the chess matches held at the Cempaka Putih Stadium, Ariesta and Farta defeated their rivals from Vietnam, after respectively collecting 6.5 points.
By winning the four gold medals, the Indonesian chess team managed to achieve its medal target in the Asian Para Games 2018 being hosted by Jakarta on Oct 6-13.
Indonesia is optimistic that its rank would improve from the top nine in the earlier Asian Para Games to top seven, with 16-19 medals from 18 sports events being competed in the largest multi-sport event for athletes with disability in Asia.
Some five thousand athletes and officials, with 1.1 thousand of them on wheelchairs, from 41 countries are participating in the Asian Para Games and will involve eight thousand volunteers, five thousand field operators, and 800 national as well as international journalists.
