"Some Indian people have come to us. They are interested in importing our product for resale," Sri Winarti, Lasem traditional handmade batik craftswoman, said in Indonesia Pavilion on Friday.
Sri said she and her fellows are ready to meet the order as they have received entrepreneurship coaching from state-owned Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI 46).
"Just by chance, we have received export and import coaching from BNI so alhamdulillah (thank God) we can do that. In fact, BNI is willing to help if we have problems to export," she said.
She said the order is the first of her experience to export her product.
"They have ordered 20-30 sheets of classical cloth priced at Rp4.9 million each," she said.
Classical handmade batik is on high demand because it uses natural colors which are environmentally friendly.

Several craftsmen of Lasem handmade batik demonstrated the process of making batik patterns in front of visitors of Indonesia Pavilion held near Westin Hotel in Nusa Dua, Bali, from Oct 8 to 14.
Among the special attractions of Lasem handmade batik are that the batik uses natural colors from the roots, skin, and leaves of mahogany trees.
Batik craftsmen are among some 150 micro small and medium enterprises (MSME) actors from 64 sub-districts and cities in Indonesia participating in the Indonesian Pavilion provided by the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises as part of the IMF and World Bank group meetings in Bali.
