"On behalf of the people of Indonesia, I express my gratitude for the attention, support and assistance from people all around the world to the people of NTB and Central Sulawesi who were victims of the earthquake and tsunami," said President Joko Widodo at the IMF Annual Meeting Plenary Opening Event -World Bank Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center Bali, Friday.
President Jokowi was indeed flooded with words and sympathy from heads of state/government of friendly countries for the disasters that occurred in NTB and Central Sulawesi.
Even at the Asean Leaders Gathering (ALG), which was held on the sidelines of the annual IMF-WB meeting, sympathy was conveyed by all heads of state/government of ASEAN countries to President Jokowi directly.
Even before the IMF-WB Plenary Session Annual Meeting was held, a special time was dedicated and a moment of silence was held for the disaster victims in NTB and Central Sulawesi.
According to President Jokowi, this is evidence of brotherhood and a sense of humanity that still exists and grows among the world community.
"This shows our brotherhood very closely, brotherhood for humanity and brotherhood to solve problems with us," said President Jokowi, addressing the participants of the IMF-WB Annual Meeting who came from various parts of the world.
President Jokowi also received many offers of humanitarian assistance for disaster victims, including from the ADB.
But in the midst of various disaster challenges that occurred in Indonesia, the IMF, OECD, and ADB, for example, continued to assess Indonesia`s macro economy as solid and healthy.
