The facility aims to reduce foreign exchange outflows from Indonesians seeking medical treatment abroad by offering world-class health and aesthetic services at home.
"This will help strengthen the national economy — not only by reducing spending overseas but also by attracting foreign patients to Indonesia," Prabowo said, according to a statement from the Presidential Secretariat.
He described the center as a significant achievement that demonstrates Indonesia’s capacity to deliver medical services on par with top international standards.
"With a facility like this, we hope Indonesian citizens in need of high-quality healthcare will no longer feel the need to travel abroad," he added.
Prabowo praised the advanced technology and international collaboration behind the center, calling it a milestone in the country’s healthcare development.
"I see this as an outstanding example of cooperation. The facilities are modern, the technology is cutting-edge, and it has already gained the attention of international patients. This is something we should all be proud of," he said.
He also extended his congratulations and appreciation to all parties involved in developing the center, calling it an important national asset.
Following the inauguration, Prabowo toured the facility alongside I Wayan Sudhana, president director of Prof. Ngoerah Hospital, and Nahla Shihab, general manager of NSWAC. The tour included a review of the center’s key services and infrastructure.
The launch of NSWAC is part of Ngoerah Hospital’s expansion into the wellness and aesthetic sector, offering four main services: medical check-ups, aesthetic dentistry, dermaesthetic treatments, and plastic surgery.
Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin and other ministry officials also attended the inauguration ceremony.
