"The increase is because part of our customers in Nusa Dua use their gadgets to communicate and upload their activities in the network," Telkomsel Vice President for Information and Communication Technology for Java-Bali Area, Ali Imran, said here on Saturday.
The data-based services include internet-based conversation or chatting, browsing in the cyber world, and interaction in the social media, he stated.
Meanwhile, the use of telephone communication services rose 47 percent, and the number of international network users cooperating with Telkomsel or roaming surged 58.6 percent compared to normal days, with most of them coming from one of telecommunications operators in China, he remarked.
To anticipate an increase in data traffic, Telkomsel has prepared central processor, radio access, transmission, and power supply, most of which are found in Nusa Dua area, he added.
In addition, Telkomsel has also prepared high-speed telecommunication access, especially in main areas, including conference venues, delegates` accommodations, and airports, by providing more than 1.5 thousand BTS 3G and more than 1.4 thousand BTS 4G in Bali.
