Jakarta, (ANTARA News) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) observed the public facilities at the Senayan Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Complex in Jakarta on Tuesday morning.

The president arrived at the GBK complex at 9 a.m. local time to observe public facilities in the area to support the activities of people with special needs.

"We want to see the public facilities here for people with disabilities, the toilets, prayer rooms, sidewalks, and access for spectators," President Jokowi remarked at the GBK complex.

The head of state has encouraged all provincial, city, district, and government officials to be friendly to people with disabilities.

"In detail, the minister of public works and public housing and the governor of Jakarta have given me inputs about what is lacking and what needs to be addressed in future," the president remarked.

Furthermore, President Jokowi stated that in future, all buildings and transportation facilities at the GBK complex will be encouraged to be friendly to people with disabilities.

The president observed public facilities at the GBK and its surroundings for about an hour in the company of Minister/State Secretary Pratikno, Public Works and Public Housing Minister Basuki Hadimuljono, including Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan.
