The trade contracts were valued at US$5.19 billion consisting of trade transaction at US$513.97 million and investment at US$4.68 billion, Trade Minister Enggartiasto Lukita said here on Wednesday.
"This is a new record. In the first day of TEI 2017, trade transactions were valued only at US$231 million," he said.
The investors are from Thailand to invest US$180 million in real estate project, and US$4.5 billion in information technology facility.
The trade contracts were signed with those from South Korea, Australia, Saudi Arabia, Belgium, France/Austria, China, the Netherlands, Spain, Mexico, Thailand, Chile, Singapore, Malaysia, the United States , the Philippines , Brazil, Britain, Germany, Egypt, Nigeria, Italy, Hong Kong, Taiwan, United Arab Emirate, Iraq, and Japan.
The trade Ministry said transactions during the TEI is expected to reach US$1.5 billion this year.
In the past there were only 68 trade contracts signed during TEI .
