Based on monitoring at the site, the 22 bodies arrived at 21:43 p.m. WIB on some vehicles, consisting of a mini bus ambulance unit and two medium-sized ambulance units, from Tanjung Priok as the first post of the unfortunate aircraft accident.
The 22 bodies were immediately taken to the Post Mortem CT Scan Room for Forensic Medicine Installation at Raden Said Sukanto Police Hospital, East Jakarta.
Earlier, on Oct 29, 2018, the B737-8 Max aircraft belonging to the Lion Air operator, with Flight Number JT 610, was flying from Soekarno Hatta Airport Banten to Depati Amir Airport in Pangkal Pinang when it was reported to have lost contact at around 06.33 WIB.
The aircraft, with PK-LQP registration number, was reported last caught radar at coordinates 05 46.15 S - 107 07:16 E. The aircraft departed at 06.10 WIB and was scheduled to arrive in Pangkal Pinang at 07.10 WIB. The plane had requested a return to base before it finally disappeared from radar.
Indonesian Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) ensured that the Lion Air JT 610 aircraft crashed in the waters of Karawang Regency, West Java. Victims of the unfortunate aircraft will be evacuated to the National Police Hospital.
The plane had reportedly carried 178 adult passengers, one child passenger, and two babies, along with two pilots and five crew members.
