Is this a dream? Maybe. But this is the beautiful dream we must work toward together.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto emphasized the need for reconciliation, peace, and harmony among the descendants of Abraham amid rising conflicts in the Middle East.

He made the statement during his address at the General Debate of the 80th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) at the UN Headquarters in New York, United States, on Tuesday.

"Two descendants of Abraham must live in reconciliation, peace, and harmony. Arabs, Jews, Muslims, Christians, Hindus, Buddhists, all religions. We must live as one human family," Prabowo said.

He underlined that peace for all humanity is inevitable.

"Is this a dream? Maybe. But this is the beautiful dream we must work toward together. Let us continue humanity's journey of hope, a journey started by our forefathers, a journey that we must complete," he stated.

Prabowo reaffirmed Indonesia's full support for a two-state solution, stressing the need for an independent Palestine while ensuring Israel's security. He described it as the only path to genuine peace free from hatred and suspicion.

In his speech, he also highlighted the tragedy unfolding in Gaza, where children, women, and the elderly are crying out for help as they endure hunger, trauma, and attacks.

Prabowo stressed that peace, prosperity, and progress are not privileges for a few, but rights for all humanity. He added that with strong support from UN members, the world can be built more fairly for everyone.

"With a strong United Nations, we can build a world where the weak do not suffer what they must, but live the justice they deserve," he remarked.

At the UNGA, Prabowo delivered his speech as the third speaker, following Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and United States President Donald Trump.

Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya said Prabowo's presence marked an important moment for Indonesia to reaffirm its active role in the world’s highest multilateral forum.
