"We have everything here, including content creator and creativity. It is very open and can respond to global changes very well, ensuring that we do not get left out," said the President, popularly known as Jokowi, during his opening address in the Bandung Creative City Forum, as he met the creative community in Bandung, Saturday evening.
Jokowi believed that in order to further promote creativity, there need to be a good ecosystem for good development.
He explained that the government is also playing its role by carrying out continuous improvement and simplify regulations that could potentially halt development in both the creative industry and digital economy.
"I always say to my Ministers to not formulate complicated regulations in regard to digital economy and creative economy," he said.
The former Jakarta Governor also said that the world is undergoing rapid changes as it enters the 4.0 industry era.
Development of science, information technology and the digital continue to emerge.
"With that being said, I would once again like to say welcome to the creative industry, digital industry and digital economy in our country that have been quickly received and welcomed by the city of Bandung," he said.
Jokowi carried out an open discussion with a number of artists, start up developers and digital economy actors in the Bandung Creative City Forum.
He also took the time to look at artworks created by the young generation of Bandung.
