One of the economic issues is related to a plan to build cooperation projects in Indonesia, Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno LP Marsudi said in a pres conference at Conrad Hotel in Singapore on Thursday.
"The cooperation projects we will implement with Japan include the joint construction of the phase 1 of MRT (Mass Rapid Transport) system scheduled for completion in March next year, and the groundbreaking for the phase 2 of the MRT system will be conducted soon after March 2019," she said.
At the meeting, President Jokowi also asked Japan to pay attention to palm oil standardization not only Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) system but also Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil System (ISPO) system.
"If there is still a gap, it should be empowered and added so there will be similar standardization," she said.
The two leaders also discussed negotiations on the general review of Indonesia Japan Economic Partnership Agreement (IJEPA) and Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP).
The minister said Indonesia applied for flexibility to Japan in the cooperation.
President Jokowi was in Singapore to attend the 33rd ASEAN Summit and other Summits from Tuesday to Thursday.
He also held bilateral talks with Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison, Chilean President Sebastian Pinera, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and US Vice President Mike Pence to discuss a wide range of issues including cooperation in the tourism industry.
