During the meeting with Indonesian citizens at the Indonesian Embassy in Vienna, Puan highlighted various strategic programs of the government under her coordination and also accommodated various aspirations of the Indonesian people in Austria, according to a press release received by Antara in London on Wednesday.
The meeting was attended by some 150 people comprising the community and members of the Indonesian Diaspora in Austria.
Indonesian Ambassador to Austria Dr Darmansjah Djumala remarked that members of the Indonesian diaspora in Austria attending the event came from various diverse groups and professions, including those who worked in international organizations, such as UN agencies, OPEC, and OFID, as well as Austrian research institutions.
Also present were women, who had married Austrian citizens, as well as members of the Indonesian diaspora, who were administrators of the Indonesian Friendship Organization.
Indonesian people attending the event enthusiastically posed questions on the government`s future plans. At the conclusion of the event, the coordinating minister took time to greet and have a friendly conversation as well as posed for pictures with all Indonesian people.
Puan had earlier highlighted the achievements of national development in Indonesia. The government is striving to realize public welfare through various fields, she remarked.
She said the poverty rate had fallen, and the Indonesian Government continued to work hard to improve the welfare of Indonesians, and this was being carried out through various developments that were evenly distributed in various parts of Indonesia through development of infrastructure, such as roads, bridges, village markets, and public sanitation.
Puan also conveyed that Indonesia had noble values that must be nurtured, preserved, and implemented in daily life, especially mutual cooperation.
In addition, she spoke of the National Movement of Mental Revolution that is currently being echoed by the government and aims to change the thought process, working methods, and ways of life and needs to be continued by building character with integrity, work ethics, and mutual cooperation.
During the question and answer session, one of the Indonesian community leaders in Austria stated that mutual cooperation was always practiced by citizens or the Indonesian community in Austria, and this was reflected some time ago through a charity donation to raise funds for earthquake victims in Central Sulawesi.
Puan was present at the IAEA Ministerial Conference on Nuclear Science and Technology meeting held on Nov 28-30 in Vienna, Austria, and also met the invitation of IAEA Director General Yukia Amano.
She is scheduled to deliver a speech on Indonesia`s national statement regarding the issue of the use of nuclear power for peaceful purposes.
