The post of expert staff for macro economy and international finance was not new for Hadiyanto, who had work experience as executive director of multilateral institutions, such as the World Bank, the minister noted in an official statement released on Friday night.
She said the challenges of macro economy, particularly at the international level, this year and in the upcoming years, will increasingly become more dynamic.
Mulyani expressed hope that the experience and knowledge that Hadiyanto had gained while working as the World Bank executive director and his participation in several international meetings would lend him strong expertise to assume the new post.
In performing his duties, Hadiyanto would not merely understand the global economy but also face dynamics and analyze how the challenges would have an impact on the national economy, both macro economy and fiscal policy, she explained.
"I highly hope that the Finance Ministry would be able to become an active agent. As I observe, I am convinced that Indonesia has extensive experience, knowledge, and achievements that it can offer to the world as our contribution to the creation of global life order or a peaceful world based on external peace and social justice," the minister added.
