The state institution for public service supervision of the Indonesian Ombudsman this year again handed over the title of the Compliance Survey for government agencies providing public services.
According to a written statement from the Ombudsman, the survey conducted on nine ministries, four institutions, 16 provinces, 49 cities, and 199 districts was expected to be the main reference for the implementation of public services.
In the meantime, Ombudsman member Prof. Adrianus Meliala remarked that the compliance survey of Law No. 25 of 2009 is the main reference for service providers in improving the quality of public services.
He explained that the compliance assessment was aimed at reminding state administrators of their obligation to provide the best service to the public, based on the standard of service.
The assessment used variables and indicators based on the obligation of public service officials to fulfill the standard components of public services in accordance with Article 15 and Chapter V of the Law on Public Services.
The valuation results are classified by using the traffic light system: red zone, yellow zone, and green zone.
During this survey, the Ombudsman acted as a community of service users, who are keen on knowing their rights.
He added that the assessment and examination of compliance level aims to accelerate the improvement of the quality of National Bureaucratic Reform.
The standard of public service is a standard measure that must be provided by service providers as a form of fulfillment of transparency and accountability principles.
