The reduction in budget allocation for 2019 is significant as compared to that in 2018 as part of the efforts to make the budget absorption efficient, BKKBN Chief Sigit Priohutomo stated.
Priohutomo made the statement during the handing over of the Development Budget Allocation Lists (DIPA) in Jakarta on Monday.
Earlier, the indicative budget ceiling for BKKBN in 2019 was set at Rp4.62 trillion (US$317.8 million).
Based on a joint letter of the minister of National Development Planning/National Development Planning Board (PPN/Bappenas) and the finance minister, the budget ceiling was reduced by Rp832 billion (US$57.2 million), so the ceiling for 2019 amounted to Rp3.79 trillion (US$260.7 million).
He said the budget usage was made efficient on overseas and domestic official trips as well as overlapping events in the regions with that in the capital city.
