The Grand Royal Wedding was held at Pakualaman Palace, Yogyakarta, on Saturday.
President Joko Widodo or Jokowi as he commonly known, wearing black suit, and Iriana, dressed in kebaya (traditional blouses), arrived at the Pakualaman Complex at 11.00 local time.
The wedding ceremony was also attended by State Secretary Pratikno and Yogyakarta Governor Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X and his wife Gusti Kanjeng Ratu (GKR) Hemas.
Jokowi and Iriana stayed at the wedding for not more than 10 minutes.
After being welcomed by KGPAA Paku Alam X and GKBRAA Paku Alam, Widodo and Iriana greeted the bride and bridegroom and wished the couple a happy marriage.
The president stated that Dhaup Ageng was a sacred event.
"This is a sacred marriage," the president remarked before leaving Pakualaman Palace.
In addition, the wedding reception was attended by Kings and Sultans throughout the Indonesian archipelago.
A number of kings who attended the Grand Royal Wedding are from the kingdoms of Gowa, Sekala Brak Lampung Barat, Denpasar Bali, and Kasunanan Surakarta.
"I am attending the Grand Royal Wedding for the first time. This event will become a history," Head of Customary Institutions for Kasunanan Surakarta, Gusti Mung, revealed.
Mung expected that the bride and bridegroom could emulate and continue what had been done by previous leaders.
"Wish Bimantoro and Noorya would become a happy family," Mung remarked.
Meanwhile, the King of Gowa, South Sulawesi, Andi Kumala Ijo, congratulated the couple.
"I want to express my congratulations," Ijo noted, wishing the couple a happy marriage.
After the ijab kabul, Islamic version of holy matrimony procession, the wedding reception will be held at the palace`s Sewotomo hall at 11.00 local time.
