Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The construction of ASEAN Secretariat Building in South Jakarta which is now 85 percent complete is scheduled for completion in March 2019, Indonesian Minister of Public Works and Housing Basuki Hadimuljono said.

"The building will have a function worthiness certificate (SLF)," he said in a press statement released on Tuesday.

The Ministry of Public Works and Housing has reportedly provided technical assistance to the Foreign Ministry to build the ASEAN Secretariat Building at Trunojoyo Street No.1, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta.

The building has an environmentally friendly design with standard certificate of Green Building of Platinum level issued by the Green Building Council of Indonesia (GBCI).

Hadimuljono said he, along with Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi inspected the construction of the ASEAN Secretariat Building on Monday.

The building which covers an area of 49,993 sq meters was constructed on 11,363 sq meters of land.

The building has two towers each of which has 16 floors, with two basements and one podium consisting of five floors.

The building is also resistant to earthquake.

A 40.5-meter long bridge was also built to connect the two towers. The bridge is also the longest bridge in Indonesia in terms of building bridge without buffer.

The construction of the ASEAN Secretariat Building has cost Rp448.77 billion taken from the state budget from 2018 to 2018.
