According to PVMBG, in the report on volcanic activity that was released and received in Bandarlampung, Saturday, as conveyed by Jumono, staff of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Geology Agency, the PVMBG Observation Post for Gunung Anak Krakatau for the observation period from February 8, 2019, at 00.00 WIB until 24.00 WIB, experienced a distant tectonic seismic event once, with an amplitude of 2 mm, the SP being unreadable, and for a duration of 122 seconds.
The fog category was 0-III visual range, with clear view of the mountain. Crater smoke was not observed, while the sea waves were quiet.
Volcanoes in the sea, with a current height of 110 meters above sea level, are observed during sunny, overcast, and cloudy and rainy weather.
The wind blew weakly in the northeast, east, and northwest directions. Air temperature was recorded at 25-30 degrees Celsius; air humidity, 0-0 percent; and air pressure, 0-0 mmHg.
It was concluded that the level of activity at Mount Anak Krakatau reached Level III (Standby), so the community and tourists are recommended to not approach within a five-kilometer radius of the crater.
